Job Title: General Cleaning Workers
Overview
The role of General Cleaning Workers is essential in maintaining a clean safe and welcoming environment in various facilities including offices schools hospitals and commercial buildings. These workers play a crucial role in ensuring sanitation and prettiness promoting good hygiene practices and creating a pleasant atmosphere for employees clients and visitors alike. In addition to routine cleaning tasks General Cleaning Workers are responsible for following specified safety protocols and procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas including offices restrooms and common spaces.
- Ensure floors are swept mopped and vacuumed as required.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces furniture and fixtures.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners to maintain cleanliness.
- Sanitize restrooms including toilets sinks and mirrors.
- Restock cleaning supplies and restroom necessities as needed.
- Maintain outdoor areas by sweeping or shoveling as required.
- Assist with setting up for events or meetings by arranging furniture and equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Follow cleaning schedules and checklists to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely according to guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while performing cleaning tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of the premises at all times.
- Provide assistance to other team members as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous cleaning experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
- Basic understanding of hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning methods.
- Attention to detail in completing tasks.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to assist others.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Background check may be required for specific locations.
- Certifications in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are a plus.
