Overview
The Hiring Manager for a hospital plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the healthcare organization by ensuring the recruitment of qualified and compassionate staff. The Hiring Manager will oversee the entire recruitment process from creating job descriptions and advertising openings to interviewing candidates and finalizing hires. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies tailored to the hospitals needs.
- Coordinate with department heads to understand staffing requirements and desired qualifications.
- Create detailed job descriptions and job postings for various positions.
- Screen applications and resumes to shortlist qualified candidates.
- Conduct interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates skills and fit within the organization.
- Manage candidate communication throughout the hiring process providing timely feedback.
- Utilize applicant tracking systems to streamline recruitment and maintain a database of candidates.
- Facilitate new hire orientations and onboarding processes.
- Analyze hiring metrics to inform adjustments in recruitment strategies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in talent acquisition.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and hospital policies throughout the hiring process.
- Collaborate with marketing to enhance the hospitals employer brand.
- Assist in developing and conducting training programs for interview panels.
- Monitor and report on diversity initiatives in hiring practices.
- Act as a liaison between candidates and hospital leadership addressing any queries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment preferably in healthcare.
- Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and related regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in using applicant tracking systems and recruitment software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess candidates qualifications and cultural fit.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Professional certification in HR (e.g. SHRM-CP PHR) is a plus.
- Experience with conducting training workshops for hiring managers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of equity diversity and inclusion strategies in hiring practices.
- Strong negotiation skills to finalize employment offers.
