Job Description
The Nephrology Division at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is expanding our clinical programs at the Downtown Baltimore Veterans Medical Center and University of Maryland Hospital locations.
In addition to inpatient and outpatient clinical services this position will also be expected to be involved in focused basic/clinical research. Faculty participation in multidisciplinary meetings and teaching students residents and fellows is integral to our clinical programs. In addition to inpatient and outpatient clinical services the candidate will also be expected to be involved in focused basic/clinical research.
Expected faculty rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher however final rank tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidates qualifications and experience.
The expected salary range for Assistant Professors is $175000 (min) and $272518 (max). The referenced salary range reflects base pay which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental variable compensation programs. Therefore the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information please contact the hiring department.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicines good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidates geographic location skills work experience internal equity market conditions education/training and other factors as reasonably determined by the University.

Successful candidates must have received their MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and eligible to obtain an independent medical license in the State of Maryland. Excellent clinical and teaching skills are also required as instruction of medical residents and fellows is integral to our clinical programs.
