As the Chief Engineer you will be the cornerstone of our engineering department responsible for overseeing all engineering operations and initiatives. Reporting directly to the General Manager you will lead a team collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure the successful delivery of complex projects. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping the future of our engineering practices and achieving our strategic goals.
A day in the life of this role may mean you:
- Plan and carry out preventative maintenance throughout the Hotel to ensure standards are maintained for a positive guest experience
- Maintain contractor records including SWMS and Public Liability insurance and ensure work permits are obtained before commencement especially when working at heights or within confined spaces
- Ensure all contractors are inducted to the hotel following the Hotel policies
- Conduct quarterly audit reporting and monthly maintenance reporting
- Research recommend and liaise with the General Manager regarding procedures to improve the overall efficiency of the department
- Prepare and submit capex proposals and manage capex projects
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technology.
Qualifications :
- Demonstrated experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience managing a maintenance function within a large multi-story building
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Civil or related field) or trade qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering will be viewed as advantageous
- Knowledge of health and safety practices and regulations
- An ability to find the yes in every situation
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- The ability to carry out emergency maintenance works outside of normal working hours
