JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Field Research Coordinator to join our team in a groundbreaking research study aimed at improving the receipt of buprenorphine in primary care among Black and Latinx people who use opioids (PWUO). This position is a unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team utilizing an innovative artificial intelligence (AI)-driven texting tool combined with peer coaching to address racial disparities in opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment.
JOB DUTIES:
Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the intervention including organizing schedules monitoring patient load and scheduling recruitment and enrollment of patients.
Support and coordinate community engagement activities including meetings with supervisors and frontline clinical and social services staff.
Conduct quality control activities such as collecting field notes conducting brief in-depth interview check-ins and ensuring adherence to intervention protocols.
Participate in requisite training on the ethical conduct of clinical studies and contribute to study implementation.
Participate in training that addresses the social determinants of health stigma reduction and strategies for providing support to people who live with opioid use disorder including enhancing access to primary care and social services.
Set up utilize and troubleshoot a web-based dashboard that communicates with patient participants via secured messaging configuring chatbot functionalities for care and social service access supporting the team in ensuring the platforms optional functioning and conduct periodic quality assurance checks. The candidate will also provide technical assistance to participants experiencing issues with the app ensuring smooth operation and user support.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Additional relevant coursework or training in addiction studies psychology or a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting community/street outreach and recruitment or as a Peer Recovery Coach or in a similar peer support role with personal experience of recovery from substance use disorder (SUD).
-Must have experience working with persons with vulnerable diverse populations with behavioral health/psychosocial needs namely persons who use opioids.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in using mobile apps and digital tools for communication and data management. Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and ensure quality assurance for digital intervention tools.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal to interact effectively with participants staff and the research team. Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:
Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
