About the role
The Program Director provides leadership coaching and support to a multi-disciplinary team and sets an example for all team members in sustaining a high degree of professionalism in collaborating with staff and the vulnerable patient population we serve. The Program Director ensures culturally competent evidence based and patient centered trauma informed care as well as ensuring professional boundaries and ethics are always maintained. The Program Director ensures the engagement participation safety and security of clients and staff at all times and supports cultivating a healthy recovery-oriented environment. The Program Director will manage day-to-day activities and operation of the program including compliance with program policies daily milieu functions and schedules. The Program Director ensures that all program services are delivered in alignment with Casas mission and philosophy of care. The Program Director is responsible for timely effective and efficient responses to program concerns both internal and external using a supportive solutions-based approach.
What youll do
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director to oversee the day-to- day operations of the program
- Understand the structure and activities that occur during each shift and ensures that staff are trained and oriented to meet shift requirements
- Ensure the safety and security of the Conexiones patients and staff through effective supervision management and leadership of all Unit Managers and Recovery Specialists
- Oversee Recovery Specialists implement all safety and security protocols for the program including:
- completing regular rounds
- assist with room search as needed
- monitoring the Recovery Specialists Station
- completing daily checklist and logs
- ensuring that all items that are potentially dangerous are secure in a locked location
- implementing Universal Precautions as needed
- monitoring all alarms and security cameras
- reporting all safety and security concerns to appropriate authorities and staff in a timely way in compliance with Casa Esperanza Inc. safety protocols
- Ensure all Recovery Specialists and Unit Managers receive all required trainings demonstrate competencies across all required skills and daily activities and receive the coaching and support needed to fulfill job requirements and maintain a safe and effective program for patients and staff
- Ensure supervision is provided to Unit Directors and other milieu management staff in compliance with regulatory requirements and Casa Esperanzas policies
- Oversee the daily client schedule and work with the Clinical Care Coordinator and Senior Unit Manager to ensure that all client activities are completed
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Chief Operating Officer to ensure the facility follows all licensing and accreditation standards of DEA BSAS MCSR CARF SAMHSA and Payers
- Supervise review and update the implementation of Casa Esperanzas Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on the unit across all shifts to ensure patient and staff safety
- Oversee Quality Assurance related to nursing Unit Managers and Recovery Specialists reviewing all logbooks Unit Safety Checks Patient Safety Checks End of Shift reports and Critical Incident reports to ensure all required documentation and notifications are completed
- Ensure that the Conexiones program collaborates effectively with the other programs and departments on the Tewksbury Hospital Campus including Campus Security
- Coordinate with a range of technical assistance providers and operational experts both internally and externally to ensure the smooth operations of the Conexiones program including but not limited to IT Evolv Training Operations external consultants security services and the Executive team
- Work collaboratively with Clinical Director People Department and Training Department to oversee the onboarding and ongoing training coaching and supervision of the program
- Supervise Senior Unit Manager Unit Managers and Recovery Specialists and the Housekeeping Staff to ensure the smooth operations of the program including timely submission of work orders timely resolution and sign-off of work orders effective and timely ordering of supplies and inventory management
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Patient Access Team to ensure census management
- Is responsible for confirming daily headcount and sending weekly occupancy reports to the Revenue Cycle team no later than Monday at 10 am.
- Respond to critical incidents in compliance with Casas MACCDADD procedures engaging clinical supports and emergency services as needed completing incident reports and required notifications timely and acts as liaison with internal investigation procedures
- Support implementation of developing co-occurring treatment skills and fidelity to the evidence-based best practices utilized at the program
- Provide leadership as part of a multi-disciplinary team in collaboration with team members both within Conexiones and across Casa departments
- Assist the Senior Unit Manger in scheduling shift coverage for Recovery Specialists and Unit Directors including yearly holiday schedules and on-call rotations
- Responsible to ensuring coverage for all Recovery Specialists and Unit Director shifts and covers shifts as needed
- Responsible for implementing and documenting all All-Hazards Response and Continuity of Operations Plan required drills including all AHR COOP trainings tabletop drills and live drills.
- Facilitate all staff meetings in accordance with program policies and procedures
- Facilitate individual and group supervision
- Provide Recovery Specialists support at the Recovery Specialists Station area as needed.
- Ensure collaboration to submit all weekly monthly quarterly and annual reports as outlined
- Maintain staffing patterns and meets fiscal responsibilities
- Participate in ABH and BSAS level of care meetings
- On-call responsibilities and triage
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bilingual fluent in English and Spanish required
- Minimum (2) years experience working with substance use and other co-occurring conditions population
- Experience working on a team with mental health or medical professionals
- Experience managing a reception area
Education/Training required:
- Associates degree in psychology social work or a similar field preferred or equivalent education/certification such as Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LADC) or Certified Alcohol and Addiction Counselor (CADC)
- Knowledge of addiction recovery process required
- 5 years of experience in operations and/or program management in addictions treatment mental health services and/or primary medical care
- Supervisory experience required
- Medication Specialist Training Program certification preferred; or willingness to acquire within 6 months
- CPR First Aid and Narcan certification
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint and Publisher
- Database experience a plus; experience conducting web research and internet proficiency required
- Treat patients with dignity and respect and can effectively de-escalate patients in crisis
- Strong attention to detail tact and understanding of complex systems and relationships
- Initiative-taker with a strong work ethic and a sense of humor

Supervisors Responsibilities:
- Unit Managers Recovery Specialists and administrative oversight of the medical team
- Day to day operations of program
This is a working supervisors position requiring the individual to serve as a working role model for other staff. The qualified candidate must also have strong leadership skills multi-tasking ability attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm on-call
