Job Description:
This position manages the government affairs and constituent relations office focusing on securing state and federal funding to support the departments mission. This position orients bureau and office leads about legislative process and directs their involvement in legislative interactions including how to draft testimony provide effective support information during work sessions respond to legislative inquiries and develop and maintain interbranch credibility. The person selected for this position is responsible for shaping legislative policy and strategy and guiding internal staff on how to effectively engage in the legislative process. The role develops and implements agency policies on legislation and constituent matters in coordination and collaboration with the Governors Office. With broad decision-making authority the manager plays a key role in directing the legislative and constituent relations program.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence ofthe following experience:
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the transportation and/or logistics sector. Experience developing and implementing transportation or economic development strategies and negotiating complex agreements.
