Job Description

Support the companys goals by analyzing datasets to identify trends and anomalies to inform business decisions. Aid the merchandising team and other cross-functional units with statistical requests and/or dashboard development as needed by the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: Other duties may be assigned)

Data Strategy Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Analyze large datasets; identify trends patterns and anomalies to inform business decisions
  • Develop hypothesis track patterns interpret data and communicate findings to help drive the commercial opportunities of the business

Reporting and Visualization

  • Create reports dashboards and presentations to communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support business with standardized reporting tools and access to key metrics within data sets on on-going basis

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data analysis projects. Be curious and interrogate the data to move ideas and agendas forward.
  • Take a leadership role in driving testing on-going analysis and projects

Technical Expertise and Data Integrity

  • Ensure data quality integrity and compliance with data privacy regulations
  • Apply advanced analytics including machine learning to derive insights and solve business problems
  • Operate in several different systems to extract and link data sets across the organization as well as operate analytical tools or platforms that will aid in collecting and analyzing data for the team
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and familiarity with emerging AI technologies and tools.

Project Management

  • Work closely with the Merchandising group to drive performance improvements in line productivity with regards to both line development and line productivity in commercial channels
  • Access and incorporate financial benchmarks and KPIs into the data fields and interpretation
  • Work with customer data from both internal and external sources to inform the line planning process
  • Create visibility to data and findings for business leaders through dashboards data collection systems and tools
  • Manage data analysis projects from start to finish ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals

Problem-Solving & Business Acumen

  • Identify and solve complex data-related problems suggesting innovative solutions and optimizations
  • Understand how data analysis aligns with the companys business strategies and objectives.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in statistics analytics mathematics business merchandising or related field or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred.
  • 5 years experience in statistics data mining project assistance or direct marketing assistance

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in using statistical software programming languages (e.g. Python R) and data visualization tools (BI Vibe IQ etc)
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server & MS Excel
  • Experience with Tableau Power BI or other business intelligence tools
  • Data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Ad-hoc reporting and proficiency in presentation development
  • Knowledge of Classification and Clustering Algorithms
  • Related experience in an organization supporting customer behavior or retail analytics
  • Understanding of multi-channel marketing and merchandising disciplines including direct/database marketing internet retail promotions etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect clean organize analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and strong aptitude in retail math and forecasting methodology
  • Excellent problem-solving ability with emphasis on drawing inferences from data
  • Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain good rapport with both internal and external customers to handle situations with confidence and tact
  • Flexible adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast paced office environment

$77500.00 - $116300.00

Vera Bradleys compensation ranges are based on market data and comply with all local state and federal regulations. Individual pay within the listed range depends on work location skills experience and relevant education. The posted salary reflects base pay only and excludes bonuses equity or other incentives if applicable.
