GENERAL SUMMARY:

In service of supporting all schools in the region to achieve their academic targets the Administrator on Special Assignment will provide floating administrative support in the capacity of Interim Principal or as needed in an Administrative Capacity. The Administrator of Special Assignment plays a key role in the development training implementation and delivery of the instructional curriculum and program such as professional development (PD) coaching for all level of school site administrators and Managers and supporting staff and regional leaders in alignment with Aspire-wide priorities and initiatives.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Equitable Instruction or Regional Sr. Director and in close collaboration with Regional Instructional Equity Leadership Teams and Academic Program Managers. This impactful role also supports the development of high quality region-wide pedagogy and instructional practices as aligned to the Aspire Student Learning Framework (ASLF)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the region through administrative support curriculum assessment and analyses delivery of PDs and on-the-ground coaching and support to site leaders teachers and classified staff.
    • Coaching work supports coherence through reference to ASLF and use of approved instructional tools (Instructional guidelines pacing guides etc.).
    • In alignment with Aspires equity commitments works with the Superintendent and Sr. Regional Director to provide additional resources and or support to Tier 1 2 and 3 schools.
    • Analyzes site-level data in multiple content areas to identify region-wide goals and trends. In collaboration with the Superintendent and Regional Sr. Director co-creates region-wide action plans to address gaps creating opportunities to implement pedagogy and curriculum that reflect data-supported best practices from inside and outside of the organization in support of coherent Aspire and region-wide coherent priorities and initiatives.
    • Builds capacity by training strong lead teachers classified staff and site leaders to provide impactful coaching and support to their sites.
  • Support and help develop systems for progress monitoring effectiveness of curriculum and program
    • Identify regional and school progress monitoring systems frequency and tools to meet achievement targets
    • Participate in regional and school progress monitoring data analysis and adjustment of strategy and supports
  • Dedicated to organization and site R&D on pedagogy curriculum development and aligned ASPIRE programming.
    • Pedagogy and curriculum reflect data-supported best practices from both inside and outside of the organization.
    • Identifies opportunities to reduce curricular offerings across the org to improve efficiency achieve cost savings and reduce reliance on content that is not standards aligned
    • Is a collaborative member of the Regional Team and works on region-wide initiatives and priorities.
  • Participates as a member of the Regional Instructional and/or Equity Leadership Teams to see alignment of instructional practices and competencies
  • Provides leadership and facilitates success among members of Cabinet to develop achieve and create the best possible learning experiences for all students.
  • Integrates the overall instructional program and activities of schools and centers by aligning all available regional resources to achieve the most efficient and effective education possible for all students.
  • Establishes and maintains significant avenues of communication with school communities encouraging feedback and facilitating its assessment growth and development.
  • Increases the teaching and learning capacity of staff to ensure that all students are prepared for college and career through a data-driven process.
  • Performs additional related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required knowledge skills & abilities:

  • Expertise in applicable grade-level Common Core State Standards Instructional leadership and teaching experience: proven results in student learning as both an instructional leader and a teacher
  • Expert knowledge of Common Core Standards and technology current instructional programs Educator Growth and Development Cycle A-G graduation strategies urban school innovations and student needs in the area of instruction.
  • Ability to support the instructional needs of English learners Standard English learners socioeconomically disadvantaged students students with disabilities students identified as gifted adult learners and other students of various languages and cultures.
  • Knowledge of teacher and leader development frameworks and ability to co-develop aligned content and systems
  • Command of the instruction-assessment cycle and ability to apply this knowledge to develop cohesive programming
  • Ability to design and launch data-driven systems for standards curriculum instruction and assessments
  • Ability to coach others and improve their practice
  • Exceptional ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships
  • Ability to manage projects including development implementation and evaluation
  • Ability to communicate proactively effectively and provide and act on feedback
  • Strong problem analysis and problem resolution skills using an inquiry framework
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to contribute to a team
  • Understands and applies an equity centered lens in problem solving
  • Expert knowledge of Common Core Standards and technology current instructional programs Educator Growth and Development Cycle A-G graduation strategies urban school innovations and student needs in the area of instruction.
  • Excellent public relations facilitation and written communication skills.

Minimum credential and educational level:

  • Masters degree required with relevant degree and/or content expertise; Doctorate degree preferred
  • Administrative credential preferred
  • Valid Teaching credential required

Experience required:

  • 7 years as a Principal school administrator or district level management position with demonstrated results in the designated content area
