Job Description
Position Title: General Engineer
Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Mobile AL
Employment Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary: Aldevra is currently seeking a qualified General Engineer to support the Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The General Engineer provides professional engineering support to ensure the safe effective and compliant operation of VA facilities. This role involves planning coordinating and overseeing facility-related projects maintenance and engineering services at the Mobile AL Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). This position is contingent upon contract award.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and review designs plans and specifications for facility renovations and improvements
- Provide technical oversight for construction maintenance and repair projects
- Perform site inspections and evaluate building systems for compliance with VA standards and codes
- Prepare cost estimates schedules and scopes of work for facility projects
- Coordinate with contractors facility staff and other stakeholders
- Ensure safety energy efficiency and sustainability are incorporated into project execution
- Maintain engineering documentation and prepare technical reports as required
- All other duties as assigned

Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain VA Badge.
This position requires passing an extensive background check.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (civil mechanical electrical or related field) from an ABET-accredited institution
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in facilities engineering construction management or a related field
- Knowledge of applicable building codes VA design guides and construction standards
- Proficient in interpreting plans specifications and technical documents
- Strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid U.S. drivers license
- Excellent and accurate written communication
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems; online calendars and cloud systems; intermediate to advanced skills Microsoft office products required
- Excellent attention to detail; accurate data entry
- Customer Focused and team-oriented work ethic
- Able to multi-task efficiently and accurately focusing on quality
