Grants Pass School District No. 7 is now accepting applications for the following position for the 2025-2026 school year:
Location: Maintenance
Position: Maintenance
Hours: 8 hours per day
Calendar: 260 days per year (July-June)

OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance position performs a variety of duties in maintenance construction repair warehouse as assigned by the maintenance supervisor. On occasion this position may be required to lead a crew. It is desired that the Maintenance position have journeyman experience in at least one trade (i.e. plumbing carpentry electrical painting grounds work etc.). Proper licensing and certification will be required on some occasions (i.e. IPM Certification).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
- Experience in general construction and/or maintenance work involving some driving of light trucks or other equipment sheetrock finishing concrete finishing carpet & vinyl repair roofing painting and framing.
- Possession of a current Oregon Drivers license.
- Knowledge of basic operations tools and terms used in building and maintenance work; methods and practices followed in maintenance of tools machinery and equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy work; follow oral and written instructions; establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students fellow employees and the general public.
- Experience in plumbing preferred.
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish preferred.
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen required. Prior toa final job offer being extendedto an applicantthe applicant must show proof of successful completion of a Pre-Employment Functional Exam.
- Upon selection employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $70 ODE fingerprinting processing fee.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- $21.34-$30.83 per hour (current 2024-2025 pay rates 2025-2026 pay rates contingent on ratification and School Board approval). Dependent on approved accepted experience/education.
- Annual COLA pay increase (as negotiated with Oregon Association of Classified Employees)
- Annual step pay increase awarded to eligible employees
- 12 paid holidays per year
- 2 personal days per year
- 12 paid sick leave days per year
- Up to 20 vacation days per year calculated by years of service with the District
- Bereavement leave as per bargaining agreement
- Up to $1522 per month district-paid contribution toward full-family medical dental and vision insurance
- $4251 per year insurance opt-out stipend for employees who demonstrate other health insurance coverage under a qualifying employer sponsored group medical plan (more than 6-hour employees) $3825.90 (46-hour employees)
- 6% employee paid contribution towards Oregon Public Employees Retirement System
- Longevity Service Stipend after 10 years of employment ($800-$1400)
