Job Description

POSITION:

Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher

(This is a vacancy due to a leave of absence)

Furnace Brook Middle School

STARTING DATE:

September 2 2025 until approximately April 2 2026

SALARY:

Bachelors Step 1; $323.46 per day

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP ORLINE OF AUTHORITY:

Directly responsible to Special Education Department Head Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent Student Services

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors required.
  • MA DESE License: Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PK-8 or 5-12) required.
  • Experience working with students with diverse academic social-emotional and/or behavioral needs.
  • Solid knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations and experience developing Individualized Education Programs.
  • Strong knowledge of MA Curriculum Frameworks and ability to modify content and instruction to meet the developmental needs of students.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with families and colleagues.
