Marion County Health and Human Services Addictions Treatment Services is seeking a compassionate and flexible temporary Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to join our dynamic team. This position plays a key role in ensuring continuity of care by providing group facilitation completing clinical assessments and offering coverage during staff absences. The ideal candidate is adaptable team-oriented and committed to supporting individuals on their recovery journey. This position will provide flexible coverage across programs working at two locations on a daily or weekly basis.EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
The finalist for this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check; however conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual for this position.
This is a part-time position which is eligible for overtime.
Work Schedule: Monday - Saturday hours vary from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with flexibility depending upon the needs of the department and program.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of the general concepts of substance use and mental health disorders; knowledge about community resources.
Skills and abilities: delivery of addiction counseling and evaluation and individual group and family counseling techniques; making referrals for persons experiencing domestic violence crisis mental health challenges etc.; keeping privileged information confidential; establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with other employees persons served and their families other agencies and the public; following directions in a professional manner; preparing documentation of services in a timely and professional manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stands; sits; moves about the work area; bends forward; climbs 1 floor of stairs; reaches overhead; lifts up to 10 lbs.; operates a keyboard; speaks with a clear & audible voice; distinguishes colors; hears a normal speech level; uses required Universal Precautions when dealing with any hazardous situations of coming into contact withbody fluids.
PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Marion County is a qualifying public employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program full-time employees working at the County may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions about your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or the US Department of Education.
VISA SPONSORSHIP
Marion County does not offer VISA sponsorship. Within three days of hireyou will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.
