Manufacturing Engineer- Welding Kapco Grafton WI

If you are driven to succeed with a passion for the professional growth and development of others our employee-focused company may have the right opportunity for you. Kapco Inc. is looking for a Weld Manufacturing Engineer.

Primary Responsibilities

Ownership for the creation sustainment and improvement of the manufacturing process
Provides the sales and quoting teams with manufacturability and process designed needed for new business
Provides the NPI process with information regarding the creation of the manufacturing process to launch new business. This includes but is not limited to machines tooling fixturing programs etc.
Creates and sustains the Engineering Master
Creates and sustains manufacturing documentation to execute the manufacturing process (work instructions setup instructions startup check sheets etc.)
Performs engineered time studies
Sustains the PFMEA for the manufacturing processes owned and drives projects based on high RPN
Prioritizes work based on scrap rework NC variance and efficiency data
Drives safety and ergonomic projects for their owned manufacturing processes
Assists in manufacturing engineering technicians with daily troubleshooting
Builds capital expenditures plans to fit in the greater organizations capex plan
Builds business cases for the larger projects that impact the business
Continuously drives improvement for their owned manufacturing processes through visual factory structured problem solving and elimination of waste
Continuously improves their owned manufacturing processes in safety ergonomics quality and efficiency
Understand CAD and possess some amount of programming or tooling knowledge
Read blueprints and specifications with the skills to help translate customer information straight into the production environment
Interact and engage with operators on the floor to guide and encourage efficiency
Present mechanical aptitude and offer problem-solving skills
Understand and properly use measuring and testing equipment

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
This skilled professional position requires technical training and 3 years experience in a metal stamping fabrication or welding environment.
Experience operating and technically supporting fabrication equipment
