Position Overview
The Department of History Political Science and Pre-Law at Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of History position beginning 1 August 2025. Charleston Southern University seeks candidates for all faculty positions who are professing Christians and who are committed to excellence in teaching and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Primary duties include conducting History lecture classes assisting students on assignments grading papers classroom management and submitting data on time as required by the institution (attendance grades etc.). The Adjunct Instructor will teach introductory World Civilizations survey courses in-person and/or on-line depending on the semester and departmental needs. Part-time adjuncts are contracted term-by-term based on course/section need and availability.
Required Skills and Attributes
This position requires a Master of Arts or Ph.D. degree in History or a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in History. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching World Civilizations at the college level.
