Job Description

William M. Davies Jr Career and Technical High School located in Lincoln Rhode Island is a state school with approximately 900 students whose mission is to provide a challenging academic and technical education within a safe and supportive environment that ensures every industry-certified graduate is capable of pursuing higher education and becoming a productive participant in todays workforce. Davies is now hiring a Social Studies Teacher!Qualifications-RI Teacher Certification in Social Studies-Secondary teaching experience preferred-Masters degree preferred-Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptableEssential Duties/Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective instruction linked to Common Core State Standards (CCSS) or other content specific area at the secondary level that will facilitate meaningful learning in the course competencies of curriculum-Maintain student record including grades attendance and performance measures that assess and improve student learning-Foster a safe and productive learning environment- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that will allow students to master State and National standards-Perform other duties as assigned Skills & Understanding Required:-Communicates and collaborates effectively with students families and colleagues
