Job Description:
Provides learning experiences in Drama/Theater guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements while creating an environment that is conducive to student learning and involvement. Monitors students understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusts instruction materials or assessments when appropriate. The Drama teacher reports to the principal.

  • Cover one section of performing arts class spanning grades 6 to 8
  • Develop units and lessons to engage students in multiple aspects of theater production and performing arts
  • Support student learning through project-based multi-modal approaches to teaching and learning
  • Adopt and utilize building wide classroom management techniques
  • Provide appropriate feedback on student work
  • Maintain and improve professional competence through attendance at professional development events and by the self-generated activities that meet district expectations and the requirements for recertification
  • Shares responsibility for accomplishing the goals and priorities of his/her grade/team/department building and school district attending all faculty and committee meetings as required and district-wide committees as needed
