Job Description

PathPoint is seeking a part time or full-time Spanish bilingual AMFT Clinician to join our Kids & Family Together division (K&FT) in Ventura CA. In this role you will be providing individual and family therapy assessment plan development rehabilitation and case management services to an assigned caseload of clients while working closely with social workers and other service providers.

About PathPoint: PathPoint is a nonprofit dedicated to helping people flourish. We partner with children adults and families to foster hope build life skills access support systems and form meaningful relationships. We serve communities across Kern Los Angeles San Luis Obispo Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.

K&FT uses a trauma-responsive and attachment-focused approach to support families the majority of which are involve with the child welfare system (foster adoptive kinship legal guardians and birth families). Services are provided in-home in-office and/or via telehealth depending on the families needs. K&FT provides clinical training specifically in attachment-based modalities such as Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) an evidence-based model. We provide a flexible working environment where clinicians create their own schedules and may work partially from home. Group and individual supervision are provided. We are looking for someone who is passionate about using trauma-responsive and attachment-focused approaches in working with children and families empathetic and compassionate has good communication (oral and written) skills is organized and self-motivated and can navigate computer software well. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with some evening availability. Able to work with families in-home throughout Ventura County.

What Youll Do:

  • Provide individual and family therapy assessment plan development rehabilitation and case management services to clients. Complete assessments and assessment tools treatment plans and enter notes and all other documentation according to timelines established.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of clients mental health symptoms and responses to treatment recognize clients in crisis or emotional distress and assist in safety planning.
  • Act as agency liaison by consulting collaborating and communicating with social workers and all other services providers on the treatment team (with signed releases) to meet client and program objectives; coordinate referrals and assist family in accessing needed resources.
  • Maintain Outlook calendar of appointments and share with manager; check email a minimum of twice a day and respond in a timely manner.
  • Attend and participate in supervision individual administrative supervision with manager and monthly program team meetings.
  • Attend client meetings (CFTMs IHBS/TBS etc.) as requested by social worker other services providers client/family or manager.

What Were Looking For:

  • Masters Degree in counseling or clinical psychology; Registered Associate MFT MSW or PCC; completed law and ethics training annually as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Must be legally able to bill Medi-Cal.
  • MFT Trainees AMFT or LMFT; Interest and/or experience: working with children child welfare system attachment trauma.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills.
  • Well defined organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to handle intense situations display good judgement and decision-making skills and remain calm and clearheaded under pressure.
  • Must have empathy and compassion for families involved with the child welfare system and a commitment to helping families heal and stay connected.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and health and TB screenings.
  • Must have a valid drivers license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Culturally sensitive and aware of differences in employees based on cultural backgrounds; aware of ones own culture and how someones background may lead to biases; has the skills and resources needed to work with employees from all different cultures and the ability to avoid making biased assumptions based on someones culture.

Compensation: This is an hourly non-exempt position starting at $23.00 per hour ($1 bilingual stipend) and the positions pay range is $23.00 to $27 per hour. The pay range is subject to change based on a variety of factors.
