About the position:
Location: Phoenix AZ (Fully onsite)
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication and integration of battery energy storage enclosures at a contract manufacturers (CM) facility. This role is permanently located at the CM and is primarily focused on ensuring operational excellence quality control and efficient production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations quality management and experience working within the battery energy storage industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations at the contract manufacturers facility ensuring that production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained.
Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure that all products meet the required specifications and standards.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency reduce costs and improve product quality.
Collaboration: Work closely with the contract manufacturers project team as well as internal teams including program management procurement quality and engineering.
Reporting: Prepare and present daily weekly and monthly reports on production performance quality metrics and operational issues.
KPI Management: Review and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) with the contract manufacturer on a regular basis to ensure continuous improvement.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve any operational issues that arise developing and initiating corrective actions as needed.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety environmental and regulatory requirements.
What an ideal candidate brings to Fluence:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering Operations Management or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing operations preferably within the battery energy storage industry.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills excellent problem-solving abilities and a proven track record of process improvement.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with quality control methodologies lean manufacturing principles and industry-specific regulations.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with contract manufacturers.
- Knowledge of battery energy storage systems and enclosure fabrication.
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
