JOB TITLE: BilingualSocial & Emotional Learning (SEL) Coordinator
Job-Type: Full time
Contract Days: 200 Days
Reports to: Campus Principal
Location: Sci-Tech Middle School
Pay:$60000

Job Goal: The Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Coordinator will support STMS to cultivate an environment and culture that supports teaches and reinforces children and adults to effectively utilize SEL Competencies. Assist in understanding and managing emotions setting and achieving positive goals feeling and showing empathy for others establishing and maintaining positive relationships and making responsible decisions for the school and children. Work collaboratively with instructional personnel to develop and provide the most appropriate educational programs for students with disabilities. The SEL Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of approved SEL curriculum and programming for STMS. This position helps ensure that all students have the tools they need to learn.
Qualifications/Certification:
Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred
Bachelors Degree (required)
Masters degree in school psychology social work education early childhood development psychology or related field or equivalent (preferred)
2 years of successful classroom experience (preferred)
Experience/Skills:
Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingual (Preferred)
Knowledge of social and emotional learning especially evidence-based curriculum and practices
Ability for project management
Proficient using computers printers copy machines
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Independent self-starter with a strong focus on student development
Possession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain current knowledge of Special Education Law (as it pertains to Behavior Management)
Maintain electronic eligibility and on-site folders in a manner consistent with TEA and Wayside Schools requirements; Ensure confidentiality of information regarding special education scholars
Perform or support developing lesson plans aligned with scholar
Manage communication and correspondence with school staff monitoring project activities proposal development and reporting
Work with the team of teachers counselors school leaders to support the integration of SEL into the fabric of the school
Promote a positive caring climate for learning.
Deal sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.
Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.
Effectively communicate with colleagues students and parents.
Perform all other duties as assigned by Principal.

Attend training and complete research to understand applicable state statutes local policies/procedures and federal & state compliance requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
Some light manual labor.
Endure possible inclement weather conditions to provide for student safety.
Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress.
Interpret policies procedures and data to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with parents scholars and instructors.
