Job Description

Job Title: TeacherInstructional Support Elementary (Title I)

Reports to: CampusPrincipal

Dept/School: Assigned Campus

Pay Grade: TeacherPay Scale

Wage/Status: Exempt

Days: 187

Primary Purpose:

The Title I Support Teacher is responsible for working collaboratively with assigned partner teachers to support student achievement through co-teaching and engagement strategies. This position will also provide targeted small-group instruction. The goal is to enhance student performance in core subject areas particularly in mathematics in alignment with the schools Title I program objectives. This position is Title I funded and meets the intent and purpose of Title I Part A of the ESSA grant program. The respective employee is assigned 100% to this federal grant programs single cost objective.

Qualifications: Education and Certification

  • Bachelors degree in Education Special Education or a related field (required)
  • Valid teaching certification for Elementary Education (required)
  • At least 5 years of experience teaching elementary school (preferred)

Special Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in instructional strategies for diverse learners including students with academic gaps English language learners and students with disabilities.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools to monitor and evaluate student progress
  • Skilled in using formative and summative assessments to inform instructional decisions
  • Strong understanding of state and national academic standards and how to differentiate instruction to meet them
  • Effective classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance student outcomes
  • Familiarity with evidence-based strategies in mathematics

Experience:
At least 5 years of experience teaching elementary school (preferred)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with assigned partner teachers to provide co-teaching and co-planning support ensuring alignment with state standards and Title I objectives.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of lesson plans that address diverse learning needs.
  • Model effective teaching strategies for classroom management differentiated instruction and engaging lesson delivery.
  • Plan and deliver small group instruction based on student data and individual needs in math.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies that align with students current levels and academic goals.
  • Track student progress through regular assessments and adjust instruction as needed to maximize student growth. Collect analyze and interpret student data to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the administration and interpretation of state and district assessments.
  • Use student performance data to inform instruction and intervention/extension strategies.
  • Provide feedback to the school leadership team regarding Title I program effectiveness and student progress.
  • Build positive relationships with students fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development activities related to Title I funding student support and instructional strategies.
  • Stay informed about current educational research and best practices to continually improve teaching and learning.
  • Attend staff meetings grade-level meetings and other professional development opportunities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all Title I guidelines and reporting requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

The working conditions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly sit talk or hear; frequently required to use hands to finger handle or feel; frequent repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds; may be required to lift students control behavior; move small stacks of textbooks media equipment desks and other classroom equipment; frequent stooping bending kneeling pushing and pulling. Occasionally required to stand walk reach with hands and arms; vision abilities include close vision; and color vision regularly work with frequent interruptions maintain emotional control under stress; the noise level is usually moderate. The employee may spend long hours in intense concentration which requires attention to detail. There are a number of deadlines associated with this position which may cause significant stress. The employee must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues.

Federal Program Requirements:

I understand that this position is funded by Title I funds and is assigned 100% to this federal grant programs single cost objective. As such I am required to annually sign and date the Job Description for this position. Furthermore I understand that this federally funded position is covered under Texas Ed-Flex Statewide Administrative Waiver and requires no additional time distribution documentation as long as my work continues to meet the Ed-Flex Statewide Administrative Waiver requirements.
