Position Title: Traveler Cath Lab Technician
Department: Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery (CTVS)
Location: Athena Medtech
Shift: Monday to Friday 07:00 15:30 5 Days/Week
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
On-Call Requirement: One night per week and one weekend every 4th to 5th rotation (includes Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology coverage)
Experience Required: Minimum 2 Years

Athena Medtech is seeking an experienced Traveler Cath Lab Technician to support our Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery (CTVS) team. This role is critical in facilitating cardiovascular and interventional procedures requiring strong technical knowledge adaptability and a collaborative approach. The ideal candidate will have Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) experience and the ability to scrub in for both specialties as part of the on-call rotation.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssess prepare and position patients for CTVS Cath Lab and IR procedures.
Perform hemodynamic monitoring and assist with administration of conscious sedation.
Scrub circulate and assist in diagnostic therapeutic and interventional procedures.
Maintain and operate specialized equipment and ensure availability of necessary supplies.
Document plans of care procedural notes and patient responses accurately and promptly.
Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure seamless and high-quality patient care.
Respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively during procedures.
Participate in on-call rotations as scheduled (one night per week and every 4th 5th weekend).
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology environment.
Proven ability to scrub and assist with complex cardiovascular and interventional procedures.
Strong understanding of vascular anatomy sterile technique and procedural workflows.
Excellent communication organizational and critical-thinking skills.
Flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced dynamic care environment.
Current certifications (e.g. RCIS ARRT BLS ACLS) preferred.
