Job Description
Job Title: Staff Pharmacist (Evenings)
Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday Friday 1:00 PM 9:30 PM (Every Other Weekend Required)

Position Overview
Athena Medtech is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join a dedicated healthcare team at a respected medical center in Pittsfield Massachusetts. This full-time evening position offers a rewarding opportunity to ensure the safe and effective preparation verification and dispensing of medications in a collaborative fast-paced environment.
As a pharmacist on the evening shift you will play a key role in medication safety patient education and interprofessional support. You will work closely with physicians nurses and other healthcare staff to provide pharmaceutical care that enhances patient outcomes. Responsibilities also include oversight of pharmacy technicians support for automated dispensing systems and adherence to best practices in clinical pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently in compliance with medical protocols
- Provide drug information and clinical guidance to healthcare providers and patients
- Review medication orders for appropriateness and identify potential drug interactions or contraindications
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and other staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapies
- Assist in the preparation of sterile IV admixtures and chemotherapy agents (as applicable)
- Uphold regulatory safety and infection control standards
Required Skills and Certifications

- Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited program
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License (MA PHARM)
- 1 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience required
- Must be able to work independently and supervise pharmacy support personnel
- Knowledge of IV admixture and chemotherapy preparation is preferred
- Familiarity with automated medication dispensing systems is a plus
