Job Title: Patient Services Representative
Location: 1501 Trousdale Dr Burlingame CA 94010
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Pay Rate - $26- $30/hr on W2
Shift Timing: 7 PM to 3:30 AM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our front desk team in a busy outpatient medical setting. This role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors responsible for check-in appointment scheduling insurance verification and maintaining accurate patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The ideal candidate is organized detail-oriented and excels in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and family members in a professional courteous manner.
Collect and verify demographic clinical financial and insurance information.
Register patients using EPIC ensuring all data is accurate and complete.
Obtain and process signed physician orders.
Conduct insurance eligibility verification and authorization.
Educate patients on financial responsibilities and collect co-pays/deductibles.
Maintain and work through assigned work queues and documentation tasks.
Refer patients to financial counseling when appropriate.
Support cashiering bed management and communication center duties.
Uphold a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in patient access or registration.
Strong experience using EPIC is required and must be detailed in the resume.
Familiarity with EMTALA insurance procedures and medical terminology.
Ability to multitask prioritize and work efficiently under pressure.
Comfortable working night shifts and every other weekend.
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Accurate data entry and attention to detail.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability.
Proficiency in using multiple healthcare systems and technology platforms.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
