Job Description
Flourish Australia is seeking Flourish Australia is seeking skilled and compassionate Mental Health Workers to join our team delivering the Commonwealth Psychosocial Support (CPS) Program. This structured recovery-oriented role is ideal for professionals committed to walking alongside people with psychosocial challengessupporting them to build capacity strengthen community connections and live independently.
The position available is:
- Ongoing full-time (76 hours per fortnight)
- Part-time can be negotiated with the preferred candidates (60.8 hours per fortnight)
- Working in your local community in Rockhampton
- Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
- Attractive hourly ratesequivalentto$37.35-$40.05/hour Super Salary Packaging!
About the Opportunities
As a Mental Health Worker you will support people accessing our services who have a lived experience of mental health issues to achieve their hopes and dreams. You will play an important part in assisting people tomaintain wellness and realise their goals. On a day to day basis you will:
- Deliver structured time-limited and goal-oriented support in line with CPS national guidelines focused on improving daily functioning and achieving recovery goals.
- Collaborate with participants to co-design and implement individual recovery plans based on their strengths needs and aspirations.
- Conduct assessments monitor progress and adapt supports as needed.
- Co-facilitate group programs that promote recovery social connection skill-building and personal development.
- Provide capacity building support across key life domains including housing employment education physical health and social engagement.
- Connect participants with mainstream and community services to foster long-term independence.

Please note - Successful candidates must maintain a Class C drivers license and proof of comprehensive insurance must be provided when required. You may be directed to use your private motor vehicle when anorganisational pool motor vehicle is unavailable. You will receive the Travelling Transport and Fares Allowance when using your private vehicle for work related purposes.
Who Were Looking For
Were seeking individuals who bring empathy insight and a strong belief in recovery.
Youll need to:
- A Certificate IV or above in a relevant field OR a minimum of 2-years full-time experience working in the human services field (as recognised by Flourish Australia).
- A strong commitment to recovery-based practice in the workplace.
- Understand the challenges faced by people with a lived experience of a mental health issue.
- Demonstrate alignment to Flourish Australias values.
- Maintain a current Australian Drivers Licence (and willingness to travel locally for community-based support)
- Feel comfortable facilitating or co-facilitating peer learning social inclusion or psychoeducational group sessions.
- Build respectful empowering relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- Be able to work independently whilst contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Effectively use and understand Microsoft Office and knowledge of data information management systems for the purpose of notes scheduling and reporting.
