Autism Teaching Assistant Wandsworth September 2025 Start

Location: Wandsworth South West London
Contract: September 2025 July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: 444.00 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025

Are you a confident caring graduate looking to support pupils with autism in a primary school setting

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wandsworth is searching for an Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. As an Autism Teaching Assistant youll work with KS1 and KS2 pupils diagnosed with ASC helping them access learning and feel confident in the classroom. This Autism Teaching Assistant role is ideal for graduates with a background in Psychology Education or similar who are considering careers in SEN teaching educational psychology or speech and language therapy.

As an Autism Teaching Assistant youll work closely with the SENCo to provide personalised support and adapt lessons to suit individual needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting autistic pupils with communication and learning
  • Delivering personalised interventions and routines
  • Supporting sensory regulation needs
  • Encouraging social interaction and positive relationships

Were looking for:

  • A 2:1 or above in Psychology Education or a related subject
  • A genuine interest in autism and neurodiversity
  • Excellent communication patience and empathy
  • A full-time commitment for the academic year
