POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Election Programs Coordinator works under the supervision of an Assistant Division Manager Programs Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk position or higher and are responsible for overseeing and coordinating a variety of election programs by developing and implementing systems and procedures according to program mandates; ensuring conformance with legal and legislative amendments on elections processes and resolving technical and administrative program problems related but not limited to legislation intergovernmental affairs language services accessibility access to services campaign finance voter registration and list management petition signature verification provisional ballot processing election worker recruitment etc. Incumbents must exercise a good working knowledge of departmental and unit functions and operations judgment and discretion in the compilation and use of confidential and sensitive information and the ability to write and speak effectively.
WHAT DOES AN ELECTION PROGRAMS COORDINATOR DO
Option I: Three (3) years of experience in staff capacity*analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of problems involving organization procedure program budget or personnel in election programs the public sector or other government programs.
Option II: One (1) year of experience at the level of Head Election and Document Processing Services**.
LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS:
II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending stooping or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS INFORMATION:
*Staff Capacityis defined as work experience within an organization providing program and administrative support to management. Work includes assisting and supporting administration by conducting research analysis and making recommendations to managers on matters such as: utilization of personnel; allocation of funds; workload and workload fluctuations; legislative analyses; and program and procedures for accomplishing objectives.
**Experience at the level of Los Angeles County class ofHead Election and Document Processing Services (1205)is defined as experience in planning directing and supervising the activities of a unit performing election recording or document processing.ASSESSMENT PROCESS:
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (T&E) EVALUATION: This examination will consist of an evaluation of the training experience and education you list on a questionnaire and assign a score based on a standardized scoring system. This part of the assessment is worth 100% of your score.
ELIGIBILITY AND VACANCY INFORMATION:
Qualified candidates who pass the assessment with a score of 70% or higher are placed on the eligible register for a period of six (6) months. We will use this list to fill vacancies within the RR/CC as they occur. Appointees may be required to work any shift including evenings weekends and holidays.
