Job Description
The Volunteer Coordinator reflects the mission vision and values of NM adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies procedures guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Responsibilities:
- Screens volunteer applicants to determine interest skills and abilities for volunteer work. Works with departmental manager in matching work needs with appropriate volunteers. Provides input to manager on placement of volunteers.
- Works with department manager in designing appropriate job descriptions for all volunteer assignments.
- Leads volunteer orientation sessions.
- Coordinates volunteer onboarding.
- Performs exit interviews for volunteers leaving the program.
- Compiles data on volunteer demographics work hours seniority and dedicated hours of service by program for the purpose of program evaluation volunteer recognition recruitment and retention.
- Assists the manager in working with hospital staff to develop new volunteer programs in response to identified priorities.
- Collaborates effectively with leadership and staff within the Volunteer Department.
- Assists in the daily operation of the volunteer office and with other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications :
Required:
- 2-3 years experience in a volunteer capacity and/or administrative work
- Strong communication and organizational skills and a service and team orientation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
- Bachelors degree
- Work experience in a healthcare setting
- Volunteer leadership experience
