Under the supervision of the Director for Student and Community Engagement assists the Division of the Student Experience offices with strategic management of co-curricular programming to create a campus community rich in cultural educational social and recreational events and activities and promotes leadership diversity and inclusion.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advise thirteen Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) organizations and their governing councils (Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) and Panhellenic Association (PHA) and National Pan-Hellenic Conference City-wide Chapters. Provide guidance to individual FSL organizations on program-planning recruitment new member education and continuous education to ensure that FSL organizations meet the minimum standards established by the University. Ensure compliance with all University and international and national organization policies procedures regulating FSL and its programming.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive leadership development program which supports all of levels of student leadership including emerging leaders programs the Annual Student Leadership Conference and new initiatives which enhance these existing programs. Coordinate AIM workshop series and certificates; Coordinate Annual Student Leadership Awards and co-coordinate Distinguished Senior Leader Awards with Alumni Relations.
- Manage the support for over 100 student organizations. Implement student organization leadership training program authorize travel approve events and programs review budgets for individual student organizations and maintain all processes in Engage. Organize bi-annual Student and Community Engagement Fair. Oversee student organization-tracking program which includes rosters constitutions and student attendance at programs and events. Plan ongoing student organization officer and advisor trainings. In collaboration with Residential and Commuter Life oversee student organization spaces. Develop a peer-to-peer connection team to help students get connected to registered student organizations. In collaboration with Student Government approve all student organization event budget requests. In collaboration with Campus Activities Board oversee equipment rental process. Serve as point-person for campus use of Engage platform
- Implement a specific aspect (s) of the Transitions Program. Aspects include Summer Orientation CAP 101 Welcome Weekend and Winter Welcome selection of Transition Programs Student Leadership Team and Orientation Leaders.
- Oversee Student Engagement FSL and Leadership interns; Develop a peer-to-peer connection team to help students get connected to registered student organizations. Coordinate GradFest with Alumni Engagement.
- Manage Stall Talk creation and distribution process. Supervise stall talk intern.
- Serve as a Student Success coach to a designated group of students as well as provide walk-in support for students in need.
- Implement a specific aspect (s) of Diversity Equity and Inclusion programming including graduation celebrations identity-based celebrations Martin Luther King Jr Day of Learning etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree (M. A.) or equivalent preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to understand communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures. Possesses a positive attitude towards cultural differences. Willing to gain knowledge of different cultural practices and world views and determine how those practices and views will factor in during investigations complaints reports findings etc.
- To perform this job successfully an individual should have excellent skills in the Microsoft suite of products inDesign Canva and social media platforms
