The Opportunity:
As the Assistant Director for the WSU Office of Academic Engagement (OAE) within the Office of the Provost you will play a key part in advancing Washington State Universitys College Success Programsinitiatives designed to boost college persistence and degree completion for historically excluded students with a focus on Teacher Prep Student Support Services and Passport to College. You will support the hiring training and supervision of project staff design and implement curriculum aligned with grant standards and ensure the delivery of high-quality college success programs and services. You will also oversee statewide partnerships for the Passport to College program serve as a liaison to WSU departments and external stakeholders in the absence of the director and collaborate with the director on policy development program planning decision-making and the collection assessment and reporting of data. Individuals who are first-generation college graduates or come from low-income backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE) project position. This position is overtime eligible.
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position with an annual renewal date of August 31 dependent on funding. The next renewal date will be August 31 2025.
Monthly Salary: $4508.70 - $5635.87 Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidates current experience education skills and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and four (4) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. One (1) or more years of experience leading or directing the work of others. A Masters degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Knowledge of the promising principles practices and strategies for improving retention and degree completion support to historically-excluded student populations.
Experience teaching advising or counseling postsecondary students.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills relevant to the programs such as working with community agencies; educational program design implementation and evaluation; and understanding of postsecondary opportunities and policies.
Project management knowledge including ability to work with complex and demanding issues and schedules and demonstrate sound judgement and discretion.
Ability to travel and work weekends and outside of regular business hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
An advanced degree in education counseling human development psychology or related field.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Previous experience with programs focused on educational attainment for historically-excluded populations.
Strong leadership team building and group facilitation skills.
