About this Job
This posting will be used to fill a vacancy located within The Department of Public Safety Office of Management and Finance in East Baton Rouge.

This position is located within the Department of Public Safety Public Safety Services (DPS PSS) - Office of Management and Finance (OMF) Budget Services Section. The DPS Budget Services Section provides effective budget development preparation implementation and control and is responsible for the successful completion of the entire budget process for seven agencies within DPS; Municipal Supplemental Pay; Governors Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP); Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ); and Local Housing for Juvenile Offenders (LHJO). The incumbent of this position reports directly to the Budget Administrator III. This position directly supervises three subordinates approves leaves and exercises substantial regulatory supervision over large budgeting programs of the departments for which DPS Budget staff are responsible.
Serves as the single principal assistant to the Budget Director. Assumes responsibilities of the Budget Administrator III in his/her absence. Serves as budget development supervisor for the Department of Public Safety Municipal Supplemental Pay Governors Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Office of Juvenile Justice and Local Housing of Juvenile Offenders
Minimum Qualifications
- Eight years of experience in budget development or analysis accounting auditing policy planning procurement contracts or grants management project management statistical analysis or financial services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in budget development or analysis accounting auditing policy planning procurement contracts or grants management project management statistical analysis or financial services; OR
A bachelors degree plus five years of experience in budget development or analysis accounting auditing policy planning procurement contracts or grants management project management statistical analysis or financial services; OR
An advanced degree in business administration accounting finance public administration or statistics plus four years of experience in budget development or analysis accounting auditing policy planning procurement contracts or grants management project management statistical analysis or financial services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Specification
