Job Description: Serve in a leadership role in maintaining University adherence to safety standards and compliance with environmental regulations set by state and federal regulations. Responsible for the University Environmental Health and Safety Plan including updating existing descriptions developing new sections as needed and making the plan accessible to the University community. Develop and administer training programs for safety procedures and compliance with environmental regulations appropriate for faculty staff and students participating in facilities work health science programs Student Health Services Public Safety laboratory courses laboratory research and studio courses. Facilitate and/or monitor routine safety inspections in collaboration with our Facilities program and maintain records of these inspections. Coordinate storage and regular removal of hazardous waste. Work with departments and programs to maintain current inventories of chemicals. Maintain a current list of MSDSs and locations of chemicals on campus and make them available to all units that utilize or store chemicals. Represent the University during any external inspections. Communicate and collaborate regularly with multiple units on campus including Facilities Student Health Services Public Safety Human Resources and Academic Departments. This position reports to the Associate Provost for Academic Planning and Faculty Affairs.
