Employment Services Supervisor
PAI a leading provider of services for adults with disabilities has a need for a creative and dynamic individual to lead and grow the Employment Services Program. While the position may support participants statewide it will office out of our White Bear Lake location.
The Opportunity
The primary focus of the Employment Services Supervisor is to place our participants in meaningful jobs within the community. This role involves direct engagement with employers and proactive outreach to local businesses to promote awareness of our services and secure jobs for our participants. The Supervisor will work closely with participants using a person-centered approach to help them prepare for and pursue meaningful jobs. Once participants secure employment the team will provide ongoing support as needed to ensure their continued success in the workplace.
The Organization
Founded in 1990 PAI is a nonprofit that empowers the individual choices of adults with disabilities to achieve meaningful participation in and connection to the community. We enhance personal community and employment connections through a variety of innovative services including community exploration and enrichment life skills training vocational skill development job training and coaching employment placement services community and/or on-site employment music and pet therapy and technology utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify employment opportunities and place participants in meaningful jobs within the community. This involves direct engagement with employers and proactive outreach to local businesses to promote awareness of our program our participants and their job skills.
- Work closely with participants using a person-centered approach to help them prepare for meaningful work. Once participants secure employment the team will provide ongoing support to ensure their continued success in the workplace.
- Supervise teach and provide feedback and performance management for Employment Services (ES) staff to ensure their duties are fulfilled according to DHS licensing requirements and PAI performance standards.
- Observe and support ES staff to ensure training competency and performance standards are met and sustained including documentation and tracking.
- Train manage and track ES staff regarding billing and payroll entries related to program participants.
- Effectively and efficiently contribute to case management ensuring all 245D licensing regulations including support plans addendums PAI policies and procedures are followed and identifying patterns in incident reports. Collaborate with Program Director and Chief Operating Officer to provide a high level of person-centered programming options.
- Understand and manage the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) licensing and regulatory requirements and ensure the implementation of policies processes incident reporting and corrective actions.
- Maintain effective relationships through a high level of communication with external parties such as employers civic and industry groups residential providers case managers/social workers family members and guardians.
- Participate in direct service delivery. Tracking evaluating and improving program results in partnership with senior managers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain data privacy rights related to personal information; appropriately handle employee-related and other confidential information.
Required Skills and Attributes
Meet Designated Coordinator standards as established per 245D. Minimally have one of the following:
- a baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older;
- an associate degree in a field related to human services and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older;
- a diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older; or
- a minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities; and
- four years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 and older under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications identified in clauses (1) to (3).
- Twenty-one years of age or older.
- Pass a DHS background study and maintain clearance to provide direct contact services without continuous supervision.
Skills and Experience
Required
- Supervisory experience in a human- or social-service-focused organization.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with the administration of 245D licensing requirements.
- Coordination/case management experience or familiar with fundamentals of case management service delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
- Reliable transportation for work driving purposes valid drivers license proof of valid car insurance satisfy insurance criteria for driving history and permit driving record checks as needed.
- Experience with managing people program management and oversight.
- Leadership and management skills including time management organization and prioritization.
- Ability to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Desired
- Supervisory and/or leadership experience with programs serving persons with developmental disabilities.
- Experience providing Employment Services to persons with developmental disabilities.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently.
Salary: $49000-$58000 annually
