Job Description
- Collaborates with school administration and appropriate staff to provide a comprehensive counseling program for students (9-12) and create an atmosphere designed to meet student needs through prevention identification and intervention.
- Implementation of transition programs and support for incoming high school students transfer students and their parents.
- Support of academic support programs and appropriate course selection for students withinf the RTI program.
- Support College Advisor for college selection and financial aid process for both parents and students.
- Coordination and implementation of standardized testing programs.
- Coordination of the school response to students and parents following a crisis.
- Development and implementation of emotional support and personal counseling for students and families.
- Provides referrals for psychological testing evaluation and therapy as needed.
- Working with the administration to oversee all issues related to school safety and rule compliance.
- Collaborates with the Academy (middle school) Counselor.
- Organizes the accommodated testing for students in need of modified assessments.
- Masters degree or higher in Counseling Education or Social Work
- SCL School Counselor License
- NT Counseling Endorsement (for Michigan teacher-certified counselors)
- LPC Licensed Professional Counselor credential
- LLMSW or LMSW Licensed Social Worker credential
