Job Description

ASSYST isseeking a highly skilled Application Release Manager to lead and manage enterprise-level release processes for complex cloud modernization programs. This is an onsite role based in Tallahassee Florida supporting high-impact public-sector IT initiatives.

Job Title: Application Release Manager
Location: Tallahassee Florida (Onsite)

The Application Release Manager will serve as the primary release manager across all Project Management Offices and programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deploy integrated solutions to modernize consolidate and coordinate independently designed applications.
  • Analyze how existing systems work together across multiple platforms.
  • Reuse components efficiently.
  • Gather business requirements perform database analysis and ensure seamless IT system communication.
  • Participate in architecture design software evaluation and make buy vs. build recommendations.
  • Apply deep expertise in EAI methodologies including:
  • Object-oriented programming
  • Distributed cross-platform messaging
  • CORBA
  • XML standards
  • Middleware and message queuing technologies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end release processes and schedules.
  • Coordinate with development QA and operations.
  • Ensure all activities are documented and compliant.
  • Manage component sequencing and dependencies before environment promotions.
  • Address conflicts and validate prerequisites.
  • Act as liaison between business and technical teams.
  • Facilitate collaboration and timely communication.
  • Implement and supervise change management workflows.
  • Approve and monitor change requests.
  • Coordinate with QA to resolve defects before release.
  • Solution Development & Integration:
  • Develop enterprise-wide integration strategies.
  • Coordinate legacy and modern systems to meet evolving needs.
  • Requirements Gathering & Middleware Testing:
  • Work with users to identify business needs.
  • Code and test middleware routines for interoperability.
  • Architecture Design & Software Evaluation:
  • Contribute to data architecture planning.
  • Conduct software product evaluations and advise on build vs. buy decisions.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in programming/systems analysis with architecture and middleware experience.
  • 10 years managing application releases in large-scale cloud modernization programs (public-sector preferred).
  • Domain experience in corrections law enforcement or public safety is advantageous.
  • Proven expertise in:
  • Application release & change management
  • Application sequencing & dependency resolution
  • Stakeholder coordination
  • EAI methodologies (CORBA XML OOP message queuing)
  • Strong communication & collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g. ITIL PMP).
  • Familiarity with enterprise application integration tools.
