As a Senior Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services youll work with advance technologies including cloud services AI/ML modern data platforms and emerging innovations to help businesses reshape their future.
In this role you will:
Partner with customers to craft highly flexible resilient architectures that address complex business challenges and accelerate adoption of AWS services
Collaborate with sales teams to drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers and industries
Act as a trusted advisor helping organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions including strategic use of AI/ML and modern data approaches
Shape and execute strategies to build mindshare and broaden the use of AWS across customer organizations
Apply your strategic thinking to business product and technical challenges
Youll join a team that invests in your success through comprehensive learning programs. Youll have opportunities to work with a wide range of AWS services including traditional cloud infrastructure AI/ML capabilities and modern data solutions. Your curious mind and passion for technology will drive you to understand how these diverse services can be combined to solve real-world business problems.
Key job responsibilities
Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor for their most critical workloads that support their digital transformation and journey to the cloud.
Support achievement of revenue objectives through the adoption and migration of applications software and services onto the AWS platform in partnership with the sales team.
Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications such as white-papers and blogs as a means of scaling your knowledge.
Act as a liaison between customers service engineering teams and support to address customer needs.
Ability to travel within the city or province and up to 15% out of the province to meet customers
AWS training during the onboarding process (typically the first 3 months) may require travel to the United States for up to 5 consecutive days.
A day in the life
Day-to-day; Gather business requirements (both functional and non-functional) Propose solutions Proof of concepts Demos (presenting technical topics to a non-technical client audience)
The SA Commercial team is located across Canada (major cities; Vancouver Calgary Toronto Montreal) and supports clients in the enterprise independent software vendors financial services small medium business and greenfield sectors leverage their potential with AWS.
SAs typically are:
Passionate about designing and guiding cloud architectural builds
Dedicated to accelerating and scaling innovation reducing costs and driving efficiency
Hands-on getting into details and possibly writing demo / proof-of-concept code
Already broadly capable in architect roles with plenty of hands-on experience

- 8 years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development cloud computing systems engineering infrastructure security networking data & analytics) experience
- 3 years of design implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10 years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 5 years of infrastructure architecture database architecture and networking experience
- Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite S/4HANA SAP Business Warehouse SAP HANA SAP Business Objects etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
