General Summary:
The Curriculum Development Specialist at Ace University is responsible for designing developing and maintaining high-quality training content for field and leadership development programs. This role supports Ace Electrics training initiatives by ensuring that all training materials are aligned with industry standards regulatory requirements and internal operational procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of instructional design adult learning principles and construction industry training needs. The Curriculum Development Specialist reports to Training Manager. This is a Part-Time position.
Preferred Job Skills:
- Familiarity with adult learning theory and instructional design models (ADDIE SAM etc.).
- Strong writing editing and document formatting skills.
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and content development tools (PowerPoint Adobe Articulate etc.).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in the electrical or construction industry preferred but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Design develop and update instructional materials including lesson plans presentations facilitator guides student guides hands-on activities and e-learning modules.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) instructors and department leaders to capture technical and procedural knowledge and convert it into effective training content.
- Ensure that all training materials align with Ace Electrics processes safety standards core values and strategic initiatives.
- Build content for both field-level technical training and leadership development programs such as NESO ProStart InterfAce and MC.
- Develop assessments and evaluation tools to measure learner comprehension and training effectiveness.
- Work with the Training Manager to manage timelines and priorities for curriculum projects.
- Assist with learning management system (LMS) content uploads and ensure materials are formatted for digital and remote delivery when applicable.
- Maintain version control and documentation of all curriculum content.
- Research and integrate best practices instructional technologies and adult learning trends into training design.
- Support annual training initiatives including the Transformer Leadership Conference and Apprentice Development Programs.
Position Requirements:
- License: Valid state drivers license as required by job conditions or by the company.
- Education:High School Graduate or GED. Bachelors degree in Education Instructional Design Workforce Development or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development instructional design or technical training.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a climate-controlled office setting with varying degrees of stress and time pressure.
- Considerable amount of time making repetitive motions.
- Considerable amount of time sitting.
- Considerable amount of time using telephone and computer.
- Sounds and noise levels may be distracting or uncomfortable.
Required Physical/Mental Functions:
- Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Handbook.
- Read and interpret instructional manuals and written instructions.
- Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction).
- Must be able to bend stoop squat kneel push pull and reach overhead.
- Able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Tolerant to prolonged sitting.
- Repetitive use of arms hands and fingers.
