Job Description

Position: Assistant PrincipalLocation: Memorial Elementary School Schedule: 2025-2026 School YearSalary: Per Contract (12-month)To Start: July 1 2025The Assistant Principal will play a critical role in supporting students staff and families by fostering a positive school climate implementing instructional initiatives and ensuring smooth daily operations. This position requires strong leadership collaboration and a commitment to equity and student achievement. The successful candidate will be an adaptive leader willing to work through the diverse challenges that an elementary school with a Dual Language Bilingual Education strand presents daily. Collaboration is essential and the Assistant Principal will be expected to honor commitments by completing individual tasks that contribute to the collective success of the team while remaining focused on long-term school improvement goals and managing daily school :Massachusetts DESE Principal/Assistant Principal license requiredSheltered English Immersion (SEI) and/or Bilingual Education Endorsement requiredMasters Degree in Education or related fieldMinimum of five years of successful teaching or leadership experienceStrong knowledge of elementary curriculum instruction and student developmentExcellent communication problem-solving and decision-making skillsExperience in Responsive Classroom Experience with the MTSS processExperience leading professional developmentBilingual candidates preferredExperience leading Dual Language Bilingual Education programming preferredEquivalent qualifications and experience may be considered at the Superintendents discretionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Instructional Leadership:Support teachers and staff in effective instruction curriculum development and professional growthUse student data to guide instructional improvements and interventionsOversee the supervision & evaluation of assigned staffSchool Climate & Culture:Foster a safe supportive and inclusive school environment through strong relationshipsCultivate a positive school community where everyone feels a sense of belongingUpholding the schools core values; Be Safe Be Responsible Be RespectfulSupport student discipline ensuring fair and effective proceduresOperational & Administrative Duties:Assist in scheduling and staffing Collaboratively plan and support staff meetings team collaboration time (TCT) and staff development initiativesFamily & Community Engagement:Partner with families and community stakeholders to improve student learningSupport initiatives to improve family involvement in school activitiesOther duties as assigned by the principal or district administration
