Job Description

As Leader of Learning & Wellbeing (Leadership Level 1) you will collaborate with a team of specialists including teachers teachers aides school therapists coordinators administrators and other Aspect staff to deliver our evidence-informed student focused autism-specific approach - the Aspect Approach. Use a person-centred and family-focused approach to ensure the delivery of quality educational standards. As a core member of the schools Learning Support Team (LST) you will lead and supervise the teaching team and partner parents carers and other members of the school community. You may be required to undertake on-class teaching responsibilities.

About the School: 

Aspect Western Sydney School provides placement for approximately 140 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 12. Our main site is located at Wetherill Park with 14 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools across the Western and South Western regions of Sydney.

Qualifications :

  • To provide for consistency of support across satellite classes we are looking for coordinators who are currently working or are available to work at a full-time capacity (38 hours per week)
  • Recognised university or tertiary teaching qualifications (as determined by NESA)
  • Registration with NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including team support
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
  • Experience in developing IPs and curriculum for students on the autism spectrum preferred
  • NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment
  • Depending on the schools location/requirements it may be essential to have a current drivers licence (per relevant state legislation)
  • You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance.

  • Full-time base salary of $90100k - $127281k (depending on qualifications accreditation and relevant teaching experience)  special education allowance $3699 p.a.  superannuation
