Job Description

Squishable is a close-knit team of designers artists pop culture-fanatics and lovers of all things adorable. Together we create the cutest cuddliest (and sometimes downright unusual) plush and lifestyle products in the world. With the millions-strong Squishable fan community cheering us on (and a lot of cupcakes coffee and karaoke) we make people say awww. Our offices are in a sunny Soho loft in NYC and downtown Washington DC.

About this position

Squishable is seeking an innovative Director of Marketing to define and execute the next chapter of our brands growth. This is a high-impact leadership role that blends strategy project management and creativity. Reporting directly to the Chief Creative Office the Director of Marketing will oversee all areas of consumer marketing to build demand expand brand awareness and deepen engagement with both new and existing fans.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on marketing leader with a deep understanding of digital culture and brand storytelling. You should have experience building and managing cross-platform campaigns from concept to execution including social content influencer partnerships experiential events and press outreach. In this role youll collaborate closely with internal teams across E-commerce Stores Wholesale and Product Development while also managing relationships with external partners freelancers and agencies. You will oversee our small but growing marketing team leading campaign development generating new ideas and ensuring that every initiative feels consistent compelling and distinctly Squishable.

You should bring a strong track record in digital-first marketing ideally in consumer products like toys fashion or lifestyle with the strategic thinking to set direction and the follow-through to make it happen. What Youll Do

Strategic & Creative Leadership

  • Develop and lead Squishables overall marketing strategy generating original campaign ideas and guiding them from concept through execution across digital social influencer PR and experiential channels

  • Originate and execute new experiential activationsincluding pop-ups events and retail stuntsacross our own stores and broader wholesale footprint

  • Partner closely with our in-house creative team to develop impactful visuals and content that reflect Squishables design-forward aesthetic

Operational Management

  • Own the day-to-day execution of marketing initiatives including timeline management budgeting vendor coordination and performance tracking

  • Collaborate with product sales and retail teams to support brand storytelling and successful product launches

  • Oversee digital programs including paid social influencer campaigns email SMS and content calendars across platforms

Performance management

  • Track and analyze marketing campaign performance using results to guide optimization and future planning

  • Present clear data-backed insights and recommendations to leadership and other key stakeholders

Team Leadership

  • Manage and mentor at least one direct report (currently in social media) with potential for future team expansion
  • Foster collaboration across internal departments and external partners while promoting growth and development within your team

Requirements

  • A university degree in Marketing Business Administration or a related field (Bachelors required; Masters a plus)

  • 8 years of progressive marketing experience ideally in consumer goods (toys fashion lifestyle) or the entertainment industry with at least 4 years in a people management role

  • Strong understanding of the U.S. retail landscape including consumer behavior key retail channels and cultural trends relevant to brand positioning and product marketing

  • Demonstrated success in building and executing digital-first campaigns across multiple platforms including paid and organic social email and influencer

  • Experience planning and executing real-world brand activations events or experiential campaignsideally in both owned retail and third-party environments

  • Deep familiarity with internet culture pop culture and fan behavioron and offlinewith a track record of using influencer and community strategies to drive buzz and conversion

  • Exceptional project management skills; able to coordinate complex timelines teams and budgets with precision

  • A results-driven mindset with strong analytical instincts and a focus on business growth while being highly creative highly organized and deeply collaborative

Details

  • Location: New York City (4 days/week in-office)

  • Salary Range: $120k - $140k depending on experience Bonus opportunity
