The Valdez District Court of the Alaska Court System (ACS) is accepting applications for a Clerk of Court 3 (salary range 14). Under general supervision of the Rural Court Administrator and Area Court Administrator serves as Clerk of Court and Deputy Magistrate in the Valdez Court.
This is a flexibly-staffed position. Progression to the higher level (salary range 16) may occur when the incumbent meets the requirements and is appointed as a Deputy Magistrate in accordance with Administrative Rule 19.2.
Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for an advance step placement.

The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate AND two years of advanced general clerical or legal clerical work experience AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net). The required work experience is met by service such as a Court Case Manager 1 Court Case Manager 2 Court Supervisor Clerk of Court Chambers Judicial Assistant or Chief Deputy Clerk with the Alaska Court System or similar work experience with another employer.
OR
A bachelors degree from an accredited college in any field AND one year of advanced general clerical or legal clerical work experience AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net). The required work experience is met by service such as a Court Case Manager 1 Court Case Manager 2 Court Supervisor Clerk of Court Chambers Judicial Assistant or Chief Deputy Clerk with the Alaska Court System or similar work experience with another employer.
OR
A bachelors degree from an accredited college in business administration public administration criminal justice or a closely related field AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

WORK HISTORY

EDUCATION
If post-secondary education is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications you must fill in the Education and Training section of the application. SELECTION PROCEDURE
Applicants will be required to meet the Minimum Qualifications as outlined above. Unfortunately we cannot always interview all applicants. If your application is considered not qualified you will be sent a notice within two weeks after the closing date for this recruitment.
