Job Description
Eden Central School and Waterville Elementary School are seeking an enthusiastic open-minded teacher with a growth mindset to join our team of dedicated teachers. This general music/band teacher position would be shared between Eden and Waterville schools to create a full-time teaching position. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborative team member who is committed to continuing to work on their teaching practice through professional development. Candidates should have strong skills as a general music teacher for elementary grades as well as experience teaching band and providing small group instrumental instruction. The teacher will be expected to nurture understanding and appreciation of music and how it can enhance student performance in a variety of areas. The teacher will present student performances for community events and participate in music festivals and other professional duties and responsibilities:*Teach general music to elementary grades*Teach band/instrumental lessons to grades 4-6*Teach music fundamentals to students across grade levels*Experience and comfort level with singing and conducting at the elementary school level*Strong keyboard/instrument skills*Comfortable with the use of technology in the music classroom*Excellent classroom management skills*Wide depth of knowledge of musical styles and performance*Cultivates an appreciation for and enjoyment of music in our students*Partners with classroom teachers to provide integrated experiences between academics and musical experiences
