We are looking for a dynamic professional who under limited supervision will assist in carrying out utility regulatory strategy as the company adapts to meet potential megaload customer needs. This role includes managing large-scale customer projects requiring close coordination with commercial regulatory engineering and legal teams. Responsibilities include but are not limited to developing project plans organizing project update meetings and overseeing deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
Coordinates with internal and external parties to analyze generation requirements for the near-term customer needs (example: megaload customers).
Works with members of the Commercial team to review new generation projects and assist in the execution of needed Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and necessary regulatory filings.
Manages Request for Information (RFI) responses from potential large customer projects.
Supports the development of the Companys Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) report and stakeholder engagement process. - Stakeholder/Report
Assists with financial efficiency optimization projects. Achieving ROE
Leads and contributes to regulatory filings as needed including but limited to Regulatory Rate Reviews CPCN filings Customer Specific Contracts and Alternative Regulation.
Support the legislative team with insights from the transformation strategy as it develops.
Works closely with economic development group to develop innovative customer solutions
Data Center Responsibilities:
Utility point of contact for potential data center customers
Meet with potential data center customers on a regular basis (virtual and in-person)
Track data center customer project milestones (e.g. rezoning economic incentives etc.)
Lead internal check-ins and track all workstream activities (T&D modeling Power Supply Rates/Reg/Leg and Contracts/Legal)
Coordinate with T&D and Commercial on data center service plans
Identification of project sites
T&D study queue
T&D SIS Study
T&D Facility Study
RFP for new generation
Coordinate with Regulatory on rate design for data center customer
Revenue Requirement
COS Modeling
Rate Design
Coordinate with RTO team to meet all MISO requirements (EPR and GIA processes) and influence MISO initiatives (e.g. MISO ERAS)
Work with Counsel to draft all agreements (MOU CSA ESA CSC etc)
Facilitate all internal review of contract agreements and negotiation strategy
Provide regular updates to AESI leadership
Support and provide data for Board and SIC presentations
Work with Communications team to develop stakeholder plan
Research data center projects across the country and track all Indiana data center filings/activities
Keep the legislative team up to date on data center developments and review draft data center legislation to influence favorable outcome
Support all necessary regulatory filings once agreements are executed (e.g. HEA 1007 CPCN tariff modification etc)
Provide expert testimony as necessary
Qualifications:
Five to Ten years of Regulatory or Utility Industry experience; Major Project Management experience preferred
Skilled in project management meeting facilitation and preparing analysis
Excellent communications both written and verbal
Adaptable to work with multiple personality types including external stakeholders.
Self-motivated results-oriented and capable of functioning with minimum supervision
Excellent computer skills to include Excel Word CaseWorks and Powerpoint
Strong organizational skills be able to prioritize the work and meet deadlines.
Education:
Four year college degree (or equivalent)
Masters degree or MBA preferred
