Job Description

The Special Events Project Manager assists with the planning development and executing of strategic events that advance Friends of Youths brand mission and business objectives. They cultivate sponsors and are the main contact with event venue. They develop and support events focused on employee engagement.

essential duties

  1. Plan organize and execute various special events including fundraisers donor events community awareness events and employee engagement events including All-Team Meetings.
  2. Develop and manage event budgets timelines and work plans; ensure events stay within scope and budget maximizing value and minimizing risk.
  3. Procure sponsors for events.
  4. Plan event logistics including venue selection dcor and set-up catering speakers entertainment volunteers staffing and day-of coordination and clean-up process.
  5. Track and evaluate event logistics (event attendance budget timelines etc.) and outcomes and prepare post-event reports to assess success and inform future planning.
  6. Innovate new event concepts and engagement opportunities aligned with organizational goals.

job requirements

a. Education and Experience

  1. Bachelors Degree in Event Management Hospitality or Business Administration or applicable degree required.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of event relevant working experience.
  3. Personal special events coordination preferred.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of MS365 Power Platform.

b. Additional Requirements

  1. Must satisfactorily pass criminal history check.
  2. Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
  3. Must have reliable transportation and a valid Washington State drivers license (or be able to obtain one by date of employment).
  4. Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of Youth vehicles on Friends of Youth business must have a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
  5. Employees and volunteers who operate their own vehicle(s) on Friends of Youth business must carry auto liability insurance that complies with the requirements of Friends of Youth.
  6. Must successfully complete the following health certification requirements within 30 days of employment: CPR First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens.
  7. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.
