Marie Curie is the UKs leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK the only provider across all 4 nations delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country while providing information and support on all aspects of dying death and leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness theyre likely to die from.

TheSenior Policy Campaigns Manager enables Marie Curie to deliver its organisational mission of closing the end-of-life gap so that we can realise our vision of a better end of life for all. It does this by helping us achieve our outcome of shaping the end-of-life care system through public campaigning on key policy areas to influence government and key opinion leaders.

You will directly support our goals of growing our influence scale and impact improving palliative and end of life care by campaigning for policy and systems change.

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading on the development and implementation of an overarching public campaigning strategy and activities for Marie Curie.
  • Advise and collaborate with the Research Policy and Public Affairs directorate to initiate policy campaigns that resonate with existing and new supporters the media and ultimately influence policy decision-makers and affect change.
  • Oversee communications planning content and channels alignment.
  • Lead teams to develop and implement effective integrated multi-channel marketing plans that build impact and influence the agendas across key opinion leader audiences.
  • Work with the Head of Department to achieve the best structure and resource for the team develop strategic agency partnerships as well as use other external resources where appropriate.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and other key individuals within the organisation to develop high impact strategies champion public campaigning and mobilise staff and volunteer engagement in order to achieve organisational goals.
  • Manage coach and mentor the team to develop their capabilities.

Key Criteria:

  • Significant experience of strategic policy and public affairs campaigning at a similar scale.
  • Proven track record of delivering and implementing multi-channel campaigning strategies at a local and national level.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to tactfully and diplomatically communicate across all seniority levels.
  • Demonstratable experience of dealing with reputational matters and sensitive issues.
  • Strong team leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor.

Salary:& 3500 London weighting allowance where applicable.

Contract: Permanent

Based:This is a hybrid role predominantly home-based with 1 day working in our modern open plan offices in Embassy Gardens.
