Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex laboratory testing in areas such as hematology microbiology chemistry and immunology
- Analyze and interpret laboratory results to assist in diagnosis and treatment
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Ensure compliance with VA federal and accrediting agency standards
- Accurately record test results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and communicate findings as needed
- Maintain strict safety infection control and quality assurance standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
- Certification from ASCP or equivalent (e.g. MT/MLS)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferably in a hospital or VA setting
- Familiarity with laboratory protocols and regulatory standards (CLIA CAP etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must pass a federal background check and credentialing process
