SUMMARY
Under general supervision maintain the flow and drainage of water air and other gases by assembling installing and repairing pipes fittings and plumbing fixtures districtwide. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE:
Five years experience in plumbing field
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
Valid Texas drivers license
Texas Master plumber license
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.
While performing the duties of this job frequent walking standing climbing heavy lifting and carrying stooping bending kneeling and reaching is required. Frequent districtwide travel is required. Specific vision abilities require close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job continual walking standing climbing stooping bending kneeling reaching heavy lifting and climbing are required. The employee works outside and inside in tiring and uncomfortable positions around gas lines around fumes and toxic chemicals. The employee may be exposed to extreme temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud depending upon the activity being conducted.
