Job Description
We are currently looking for a Welder/Mechanic to join our facility in Jersey City NJ
Job Summary:
Welding/Repairing the production equipment Mobile equipment Roll-off containers hoppers and storage containers for all the facilities.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Welds metal parts together
- Performs related tasks such as sizing and grinding
- Repairs broken or cracked parts fills holes and increase size of metal parts
- Coordinate Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding
- Locates and repairs components of fixed hammer mill
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge or be able to learn Work Order System Inventory software.
- Ability to pass Balcones Resources welders test.
Working conditions/physical demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
