What You Will Do:

  • Provide strategic leadership and big-picture thinking to elevate teaching and learning across SIUEs campuses and platforms (face-to-face blended and online).
  • Partner with Educational Outreach and other academic leaders to co-create powerful scalable learning experiences that meet todays needsand tomorrows possibilities.
  • Lead a talented team of instructional designers trainers and tech professionals with heart vision and purpose.
  • Work with a wide range of stakeholdersfaculty the Provosts office Admissions Bursar and moreto build the policies plans and programs that shape SIUEs blended and online learning environment.
  • Research and recommend cutting-edge ed-tech tools pedagogical approaches and quality standards that align with local state and national expectations.
  • Develop and support faculty training and endorsement programs that empower educators to teach with confidence and creativity.
  • Represent SIUE ITS at local state and national conferences and committees. Be the voice of innovation in the room!

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree & 1 yr work experience in a related field
OR
Bachelors degree & 4 yrs of work experience in a related field
OR
Associates degree & 5 yrs of work experience in a related field
OR
7 yrs of work experience in a related field.
-Two yrs of direct supervisory experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Can be concurrent: 3 years managing an online program or creating curriculum materials for online/blended environment
-3 years experience working w/ course management system(s)
-3 years creating online/blended learning policies & procedures
-3 years training & developing training programs & materials preferably in online/blended environment LMS or related subjects
-5 years Win & Mac platforms
-3 years w/ pedagogical technology integration
-Must be able to manage & deliver multiple projects on time and make independent prioritization decisions to meet appropriate deadlines
-Work well within a team
-Experience brainstorming skills and have a deep understanding of online/blended learning environments
-Be able to learn new technologies quickly & independently
-Be able to explain complex ideas and technologies to non-technical people in a clear manner
-Be able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings w/ people w/ a wide range of knowledge skills& experience and be very detail oriented.

Illinois Residency Requirement:Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.

Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.

Classification: State Universities Civil Service System Classification Number:5030 SUCSS Classification Title. For more information on Civil Service classifications please visit the State Universities Civil Service System website at: who qualify for preference must provide proof of eligibility within ten (10) working days of submitting an application. The required proof of eligibility includes at a minimum a copy of the veterans DD214/DD215 form (Department of Defense) NGB22 form (National Guard) or Discharge Orders or DD256 Discharge Certificate (Reserves).
