Typical Day:
Typical day entails working with a large team to operate and maintain the FBIs CJIS IT infrastructure using the SAFe methodology.
Tasks:
- Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Plan and lead major technology assignments.
- Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
- Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- May supervise others.
- Facilitate for an agile development team within the SAFe framework.
- Lead the organization and change agent for Lean-Agile techniques processes and principles.
- Help the other team members communicate coordinate and cooperate; with the goal of assisting the team meet their Iteration Objectives.
- Support and reinforce the team rules.
- Facilitate the teams progress toward team goals. Continuously engaged in challenging the team to improve performance quality predictability and velocity.
- Lead team efforts in relentless improvement Help the team improve and take responsibility for their actions; facilitate the team retrospective. Teach problem-solving techniques and help the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
- Facilitate meetings Facilitate all team meetings including (where applicable) the Daily Stand-up Iteration Planning Iteration Review and Iteration Retrospective.
- Support the Product Owner The Scrum Master shall assist the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
- Eliminate impediments Many blocking issues will be beyond the teams authority or may require support from other teams. The Scrum Master actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Iteration.
- Protect and Communicate Communicate with management and outside stakeholders; helps protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work.
- Facilitate preparation and readiness for ART events Assist the team in preparation for ART activities including Program Increment (PI) Planning System Demos and the Inspect and Adapt.
Required Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience with project management and the Agile system.
- Leadership and communication skills.
- Good planning and organization skills.
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum XP Kanban and SAFe.
Desired Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in computer science or business field is preferred.
